General Use
A dehumidifier is designed to remove excess moisture from the air to maintain a healthy indoor humidity level, typically between 40 – 60%.
It is ideal to use a dehumidifier when the indoor humidity is high. This usually happens during the summer months or in typically damp areas such as basements and crawl spaces.
Set it between 45–55% for optimal comfort and to prevent mold growth.
Yes, especially in consistently damp environments. Look for models with automatic humidity control to save energy.
This depends on the size of the room and the level of humidity you intend to tackle. For instance, regular dehumidification in average-sized rooms might only require a small dehumidifier. Larger, wetter spaces like basements or crawl spaces require higher-capacity or commercial-grade units.
Mold needs moisture to grow. In humid conditions, its growth can be highly exacerbated. A dehumidifier reduces indoor humidity, helping to prevent and control mold buildup on walls, furniture, and hidden surfaces.

Maintenance and Operation
Clean or replace the air filter every few weeks (or as recommended), wipe the unit’s exterior with a soft cloth, empty and sanitize the water tank regularly, and regularly check the drain hose if using continuous drainage.
